So, my miniature obsession lasted for about, uhm... 2 weeks. I never actually MADE any miniatures, but I did search a lot on Amazon.com for Books on Dolls Houses and Miniatures. I did search endlessly here in Panama for bass wood or any type of wood that would let me make roomboxes but I never took the actual step to START making one.
This is the reason it is so lovely to have a crafts site. I LOVE crafts, but actually doing them can be daunting for me. I don't really understand it, there are crafts I can teach myself, but some are just out of bounds for me (or maybe my brain does not think I can do them) carving wood is one of those things. True, I did not need to carve stuff to make tiny furniture, I could have very well made stuff from polymer clay, but NOOOO.. lil' miss crafts needs to carve furniture and dollhouses from scratch.
So now I have moved on to something I've always wanted to do, cake decorating. I see so many beautiful cakes out there, but it has not been easy, I took a small course last week and learned to make gumpaste flowers and structures and this week I am learning about fondant. The thing is, this is something I could make a little money on, maybe pay the bills on time? I have been forcing myself to practice with the Wilton Course 1 book, but I never get the icing consistency just right...

Last year I had no motivation to craft, but this year is different. I've decided to crochet the most beautiful bed doll gowns from Annie's Attic collection and have signed up for the fair. The problem is I keep seeing other crafts I want to do and wanting to spend more money on materials.. but I have already decided on my theme.
