I can't bead anymore!

Lately I've been caught up on that vicious cycle of what to do with my life.  As usual, crafting always comes up, as well as my fascination with what a pair of hands and something as simple as a needle and a bead can accomplish.

The day before last I thought.. Know what?  I feel like beading bracelets on a loom.  I think I made about 11 rows, before realizing I was not going to finish this particular piece.  The worst part was, it was difficult for me to catch the darn little beads.  My eyes hurt.. they HURT when I tried to focus.

Ok, so I will turn 37 this year, and that is much closer to 40 than what I am comfortable with, but I thought crafts were for little old ladies.. now that I'm becoming one, what's going to happen?!!

Crafts for everyone online 3 years 2008

Happy new 2008!

We've been online 3 years now and I am welcome every single visitor.  I've started preparing earlier this year, so here are a few cool things for you to consider this month.

According to a Holiday site I visited, January's birthstone is the Garnet and the flowers are carnation and snowdrop.

The next holidays that have some crafting potential are in February.  There is Valentine's day, the chinese new year and there is also the Carnaval here in Panama  and Rio de Janeiro (Mardi Gras in the US, though I don't know if they are in the same dates)

So, here are resources for those events (click on the links): Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year.

Expo Manualidades Panama 2007

Another Year, another fair.  This was my third time in this specific fair, but truth be told, I am dissapointed with my own efforts. The fair itself varied from their usual routine.  It used to be 2 days and now it was 3 days, making it more expensive.  Since I did not make any new products (my beaded flower hairclips), I invited my friend Alexis and his wife to the fair, since he is an artisan as well.  Also I invited my friend Elsa's Mom, Nena, which has a knack for jewelry making, and she enjoyed the venture.

I've added some pictures you might enjoy here in the page as a little image rotator.

Finally bought that Mirrix Loom

Well, I finally did it.  I bought my Mirrix Loom, a 16 inch one with a Shedding Device, if you don't know what that is, don't worry, neither do I, except I saw this beading video with the Mirrix Loom and they used the shedding device and the beading was SO EASY.

Of course, now I know that is not the truth.  The beading is easy, but it's the setting up of the loom with the thread that is a ... well, it's very hard to do.

So here I thought I'd have hundreds of little beaded purses all made by this time, and I am still preparing my loom for the first one.

I bought it from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads instead of the Manufacturer (Mirrix Looms) because Fire Mountain does an incredible job with packaging.

Happy 2007

Wow!  The year went by so fast! and now it's almost the end of January 2007.

I was surprised to see that I had put this website on hold (unknowingly) since November 2006. I never even got a chance to put in some Xmas goodies for everyone!

In my defense, December is a time for cooking, cleaning and buying presents (I tried to make presents but I ended up buying them instead, but that is another post for another time).

This month is the 2 year anniversary of the Crafts for Everyone site.  I officially published it back in January 2005 and it certainly has evolved, though I am looking forward to many new changes this year.

All in all, I wish for you a very prosperous and happy 2007, I know I will try my best to make it happen in my life!
